One of my magical mentors

It sure is amazing to start the day off with a personalized email from one of my mentors Gay Hendricks.

I am sure that you already know who Gay is, but just in case you have never crossed paths with him, I highly recommend that you check out all the amazing work and play that he creates with his beautiful wife Kathlyn Hendricks, aka: Katie.

Gay is a psychologist, writer and practitioner in the field of personal growth, relationships, and the mind-body connection. He is best known for his work in relationship enhancement and in the development of conscious breathing exercises. He and Katie have been together for over 25 years and together they have authored over 25 books.

The first message that you see when you visit their website is:

CREATE A LIFE OF LOVE, PRESENCE, AND INTEGRITY
AT HOME AND IN THE WORLD

I love it! —> Especially because it is how I am doing my very best to live and it’s what I support all my clients and students in doing.

So, you can imagine how very touched I was when I received an email from him this morning thanking me for the kind words that I flowed his way when I saw him and Katie at The Esalen Institute where we were all teaching a few weeks ago.

I had not seen him in many years but wanted to acknowledge him for giving me one of the greatest bits of guidance any mentor had ever given me.

It was a kernel of wisdom that I now realized was a profound instigator of some of the greatest positive changes I have made in my life over the past 6 years including the creation of Vibration Transformation.

Years ago, Gay told me (and I am paraphrasing to extract the essence of the message),

“Anne, you are a great visionary, which is a wonderful thing indeed.
But we visionaries often expand so far into our big vision that we dissipate our energy and lose focus.
Start by focusing on one thing and get really good at it and then expand and grow from that very rooted and grounded place.”

Then, with a twinkle in his eye, he picked up the very first book he ever wrote and said,

“It all started here for me. I focused on keeping it very simple and I wrote this book.”

And then he turned to his bookshelf and said as he pointed to a long row of books,

“And from that root I grew 25 more books. And I know that you will do the same.”

At the time I had chills in every cell in my body because he gave me a supreme blessing on my future…a future that perhaps in his many years of living he could perceive.

As I write this, I am sitting on my coach looking out to the garden, ocean and islands where I do a lot of my writing and a lot of my epiphany crying.

It is here, as I write that a lot of things come together for me in my Heart and Body and Mind and Spirit.

I am crying as I write now with this core revelation that EVERYTHING that Gay said to me is SO TRUE.

4 years after Gay spoke these words of wisdom Vibration Transformation was birthed in my consciousness and it is the culmination of over 14,000 hours of teaching Yoga and many years of being a Life Coach, Spiritual Teacher, Musician and singer, Recording Artist, Bhakti, Creator of Yoga Training Programs, Feng Shui practitioner and Hands on Healer, Artist, Writer, Raw Food Alchemist, Ceremony Officiant and teaching about the power of Movement, Breathing, Meditation, Emotional Cleansing, Physical Cleansing, Nutrition, Relaxation, Chakras, living in alignment with your Values and Life Purpose and living in harmony with the Universe.

It’s a lot of stuff and I could easily get lost in it all because the vision that I have for Vibration Transformation is huge.
But I now realize that Gay’s advice has taken root in my Soul and now, almost 6 years after he spoke those words, I am doing my best to embody his words of wisdom.

I was recently talking to a friend about my big vision for Vibration Transformation and told her,

“I have been shown some wondrous ways that I can grow this baby but Vibration Transformation needs to be super grounded and practical and have deep roots so that she can produce lots of fruits and flowers.
And I need to go narrow and deep and focus on the one true source from which everything can grow.
And that is my book.”

And I now realize that I this is what I wrote in my newsletter:

“I am focusing on working with one-on-one clients and writing through the of the year.
Be on the lookout for lots of great events in 2014.”

I wrote that because many people have been asking me to hostess Vibration Transformation events right now but it feels like it will dissipate my energy away from grounding and stabilizing the core teachings of Vibration Transformation.

It’s the first time that Gay has ever responded to one of my newsletters.

Coincidence? I think not 🙂

This is how our magical Universe works.

We are all SO connected and everyone is our guide and our teacher and there are signs and omens everywhere.

Today, Gay is my good omen.
Receiving his email was like a big thumbs up from the Universe to focus on writing my book.
Wow.
